A musical once voted the ‘Most Popular Musical Audience Award’ that has won over 60 major theatre awards is finally returning to Liverpool after fourteen years. Yes that’s right, Phantom of the Opera is back. Last at The Empire in 1999 and in front of the Queen who re-opened our glorious theatre after a spectacular refurbishment, 2013 is the year for you to once again fall in love with the Phantom.
Cameron Mackintosh’s staggering new production of a much loved classic is one not to be missed. Featuring Earl Carpenter as the Phantom (Carpenter also performed the role on the West End and most recently could be seen on the West End playing Javert in Les Miserables), Katie Hall as Christine (previously seen in the BBC’s search for Nancy in ‘I’d Do Anything’) and Simon Bailey as Raoul (who has performed the role ar Her Majesty’s Theatre as well as roles in Passion, We Will Rock You and Les Miserables), this is a perfomance that the theatre world is going to take note of.
The Phantom of the Opera is the longest running show on Broadway; it has won 7 Tony awards and 3 Olivier awards and now we have the honour of becoming home to the spectacular show from February 20th until March 9th. A story of love and trials and tribulations complete with ballet and a journey of self-discovery, it is an awe-inspiring story, brought to us with a fantastic cast and crew.
We’ll see you there!
The Phantom Of The Opera runs from 20 Feb to 9 Mar 2013.
